Octomore 13.1 is as youthful and dynamic as its super-heavily peated predecessors. Distilled patiently from the 2015 harvest of 100% Scottish Mainland barley, this single malt is malted to a stratospheric 137.3 PPM and matured in the highest quality American oak casks.Â
Nose: Smoke and sweet peat, some nuttiness and ripe fruits, creamy notes with some amazing rich notes of leather and wet earth, some dried fruits, soft syrup and peach, wood embers and charred oak tablet and truffles adding a sweet roundness to the nose. Â
Palate: Smoke and peat are the forward taste of this exceptional single malt, sweet grains, and soft fruits, with a hint of peat and smoke welling up from the mid palate infusing fruits with and intensity that keeps your palates attention, some toasted oak, Turkish delight and nutty notes, more rich sweet smoke arrives in the lingering full-bodied finish. Â
